Why Choose Cancellation & Surrender of GST Registration?

Failing to file monthly GSTR-3B and GSTR-1 returns for an inactive business generates automatic late fee notices of ₹50 per day (₹20 for nil returns), leading to bank account attachments, cancellation by the tax department with heavy penalties, and blocked PAN numbers.

Stop Recurring Late Fees & Penalty Accumulation

Eliminate statutory late fees of up to ₹10,000+ per month for non-filing of zero/nil returns on inactive GST numbers.

Protect Directors' PAN from Tax Blacklisting

Prevent tax department suo-motu cancellations that freeze directors' PANs across India for new business registrations.

Legally Settle Stock ITC & Capital Goods Liabilities

Accurately compute tax payable on inputs held in stock, semi-finished goods, and capital machinery per Section 29(5).

Unfreeze Bank Accounts & Avoid Recovery Notices

Cleanly close tax liabilities, preventing GST department bank attachment notices under Section 79.

We draft and file the statutory Final Return within 3 months of the cancellation order, ensuring complete tax closure.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. The GST portal requires all pending monthly returns (GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B) up to the date of the cancellation application to be filed before Form GST REG-16 can be submitted.

  • Under Section 29(5), the taxpayer must pay an amount equal to the Input Tax Credit (ITC) availed on inputs held in stock, inputs contained in semi-finished/finished goods, and capital goods, OR the output tax payable on such goods (whichever is higher).

  • If Form GSTR-10 is not filed within 3 months of the cancellation order, the tax department issues a Notice in Form GSTR-3A and levies late fees of ₹200 per day (up to ₹10,000) under Section 47.

  • Voluntary cancellation is initiated by the taxpayer when closing business. Revocation of cancellation (Form GST REG-21) is applied by a taxpayer whose GST registration was cancelled suo-motu by the tax department for non-filing, seeking to restore the GSTIN.

  • Once a voluntary cancellation order (REG-19) is passed and GSTR-10 is filed, that specific GSTIN cannot be re-activated. If business resumes, a fresh GST registration application must be filed.
